Stephanie HammondI have always loved books and reading. I remember as a child every Friday after work dad used to take us to the book exchange. He loved reading. Zane Grey and the Phantom comics were his favourites. My sense of adventure, and love of immersing myself in other worlds, was born and nurtured through Enid Blyton’s Famous Five and Secret Seven books. As I got older I realised my life was reflected in the words of great writers like George Eliot’s Mill on the Floss. I learned a lot about myself, some things I liked, some I was embarrassed about. But learning was exciting and growth was inevitable. I loved to read and I loved to write. I love to share my thoughts and experiences. The feel and taste and sound of words are delightful and delicious to me. I hope my own words will, in time, inspire and feed others as I myself have been inspired and nourished by others’ writing. I also love to think of my parents and grandparents and their parents, and wonder about their stories and traditions. Am I reflections of them, their hopes and fears and dreams? I write what is meaningful to me. I’ll post stories about what I’ve learned, with all my imperfections and heart’s desires. I reside in Hamilton, New Zealand. I was born in Australia and have lived also in the USA. I’ve travelled across the States, visited the UK, Greece, China, India, Tibet and look forward to exploring more of this wonderful world. I am energized by time in nature and in the garden. I particularly love the home my husband Neil and I have created together. ArchivesNo Archives Categories |
