My name’s Ferne Brisgold. I think of myself as Kiwi by birth, even though I have pretty much zero memories of New Zealand. After all, what can a girl remember from when she was five-months old!?

I’m passionate about languages and learning about other cultures including their music, art and food. I’m actively learning Korean whilst planning to learn several other languages, including Japanese and Greek.
I love to travel but haven’t had the chance to do much yet – at least, not on my own. Clearly I’ve travelled since I was born in New Zealand. I lived nearly six years in Australia and am currently living in England; however there are loads more places I want to see. So many countries!
I love taking photos of pretty things, and I prefer to be behind the camera! I’m currently

I have written and am currently illustrating a short picture book called “The Singing Forest”. Look out for it around the end of September with a Christmas Edition available in December.
Other projects I’m working on include a book of musings with the occasional short story thrown in, tentatively titled “The musings of a girl in a coffee shop”, and a novella following two lovers’ struggle with their fate. I have a few other ideas swimming around in my head that I hope to get out one day. I love to draw and paint. At the moment, I’m concentrating on my photography projects and using my artwork to illustrate my books.
