Proof-reading...
Proof-reading is the final step in the process before your manuscript is ready to be formatted for printing.
Our professional proof-readers check that your grammar is correct, including punctuation, capitalization, verb tense, spelling, and sentence structure. They will also check your document for clarity, to make sure it makes sense. The proof-reader may make suggestions on how to improve ambiguous or awkward sentences. They will also check that your document looks good and that chapter headings and page numbering are consistent.
We use ‘tracked changes’ proofing tools which are built into all major word processing software. We will provide you with a 'marked up' version of your document which will allow you to see the changes we have suggested and either accept or reject them. This way, you remain in control of your project at all times. If you have opted to send your document to us as a hard copy, the changes will be clearly marked on your copy. You will be able to make these changes (or not) on your own electronic version. A separate sheet outlining the reasons for the suggested changes will also be provided.
